Ledus, a subsidiary of Tech Pro Technology Development Group, listed in Hong Kong and specialized in the manufacture of Led lighting systems, becomes the first Chinese to acquire 100% of a European football club.
It is a symbol of French Football, since 1928, which passes under the Chinese flag, after the acquisition at the end of March 2015, of 20% of the capital of the Spanish Club Atletico Madrid by another great captain of Chinese industry, Wang Jianlin, boss of the Wanda group.
The amount of the transaction involving the purchase of “100% of the capital and voting rights” of the Sochaux club could amount to 7 million euros, according to figures unveiled at the time by Tech Pro Technology Development. For Ledus, which wants to develop in the European market, the acquisition of Club FC Sochaux is an excellent vector for developing its reputation and image.
At the beginning of 2014, PSA Peugeot Citroën, the largest French car manufacturer, had already turned to China by opening its capital to the Donfeng Group; other French Clubs, both in football and in other sports, are looking for investors, which offer great acquisition opportunities for Chinese companies in development research in France.
