Mécanique Générale Langroise is a family business in Haute-Marne with 46 employees and a turnover of €8 million in 2013. Created in 1991, MGL has rapidly developed in the industrial valves market for oil, gas, nuclear and hydro-electric.
This specialization, its mastery of high precision and the quality of its customers have attracted the Indian Group Bharat Forge Ltd (BFL).
The Indian company is part of the Kalyani Group, a $2 billion conglomerate with 10,000 employees worldwide.
The operation was carried out via the German subsidiary of the Indian group, CDP Bharat Forge GmbH, which valued MGL at €11.8M, roughly 10 times the 2013 REX.
It allows the Bharat group to open the French market by getting closer to its customers.
Acquisitions of French companies by groups in emerging countries have been growing more and more in recent months as evidenced by the acquisition in 2014 of ULTRA-NOVA.
