The French mobile affiliate company MobPartner has just been bought by the Chinese Cheetah Mobile for 58 million dollars. Cheetah Mobile, a Nasdaq-listed Chinese company, is the world’s leading mobile app developer and the second-largest mobile and internet security company in China with over 860 million downloads and 340 million active users each month.
Mobpartner, a French company based in Paris, London, San Francisco and Beijing, was created in 2009 and benefited from a €2.5M fundraising from Newfund and Alven.
Awarded FAST 50 by Deloitte Technology in 2014, Mobpartner develops mobile advertising and monetization solutions based on performance and return on investment.
“The acquisition of MobPartner will strengthen Cheetah Mobile’s advertising expertise and together we will build one of the world’s leading mobile advertising platforms.” said Sheng Fu, CEO of Cheetah Mobile
This is one of the first acquisitions of SMEs in France by a Chinese ETI, a sign that the China->France acquisition market is no longer reserved for large companies or companies in financial difficulties.
