Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang’s official visit to France has created a climate of relations favourable to cooperation between the two countries, according to French business leaders who witnessed this visit from 29 June to 2 July in Paris, Marseille and Toulouse.
The signature of some fifty cooperation agreements and contracts worth tens of billions of euros is expected, illustrating economic relations “at their best historical level” according to Paris.
As he did at the end of January -with a few words in Mandarin- during his visit to Li Keqiang and President Xi Jinping, Manuel Valls renewed his call for Chinese investments in France, considered by Paris as notoriously insufficient (about 1% of annual Chinese investments abroad). Some 13,000 jobs in France already depend on these investments, according to Paris.
“I would like to address this message to Chinese business leaders today: come and settle in France! France will always be able to meet your expectations and ambitions”, Manuel Valls said, repeating his call in Mandarin.
