The Domaines CGR, including the properties Château La Cardonne, Château Ramafort and Château Grivière (125 hectares in total), have just passed under the control of rich wine lovers.
According to the Figaro which revealed the transaction, the Huang family bought the company for tens of millions of euros, via its holding Hongkong Funshare Life Group Share. This is the largest Chinese acquisition ever made in the region.
Since 2011, more than a hundred Bordeaux chateau have been acquired by Chinese groups or private investors.
Transactions appear to have accelerated in recent months:
- November 2015 – Le château Vallon des Brumes racheté par son importateur chinois
- November 2015 – Peter Kwok rachète le château Tourans
- December 2015 – Castel cède 90 % du château Mirefleurs à Changyu
- April 2016 – Valeyrac (33) : le château Rousseau de Sipian sous bannière chinoise
